Today - Friday, Sept. 19, our whole school will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run/Walk, followed by a community lunch in the cafeteria for all staff and students. Please see the plan below, and feel free to email Giselle or Georgia if you have any additional questions.
Schedule & Logistics
10:45 am – Leadership students dismissed from class
10:55 am – All classes gather in the gymnasium (students standing on the gym floor facing the bleachers; no sitting required)
10:56–11:02 am – Quick assembly led by leadership class
11:05 am – Run/Walk begins (as soon as assembly ends)
12:25 pm – Event concludes; regular afternoon classes as usual
Fundraiser – Toonies for Terry
All classes have been provided a jar, and leadership students will be collecting donations on Thursday and Friday morning. Bring in a Toonie to support this important cause.
Route
The run/walk will follow the regular greenbelt loop used in previous years. A map is attached for you to review with your class; please inform the students the finish line is at the front office entrance to the school.
Please note there is a detour along Eighth St. While we are in contact with the city and police for possible escort and flaggers, extra staff presence along this section will be appreciated to keep everyone safe with the increased traffic flow.
Community Lunch
When we return, staff and students are invited to enjoy a schoolwide lunch in the cafeteria. Lunch will include hotdogs, Caesar salad, and a drink. Vegetarian dogs and gluten-free buns are available by request directly from the cafeteria.
